Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to RSVP for every member of my household and all 4 events?

Yes, please complete the RSVP form for each member of your household that has been invited, as well as for all 4 of the events. This will help us greatly in keeping track of arrangements.

Can I bring a plus one?

We have addressed our invitations to the people we would like to see there. Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation.

Can I bring my kids?

There will be some younglings that have been invited specifically to participate in the ceremony, and provisions will be made for their care and entertainment. If your child(ren) are not among the names listed on the invitation, kindly make alternative arrangements for their care at home. Please understand that the wedding reception will include flammable objects, stairs, wild animals, free-flowing alcohol, and a great deal of dancing, all of which may present a hazard to small humans. We take no responsibility.

What if I miss the RSVP deadline?

Please be sure to RSVP no later than 26 June 2026. If we do not receive your RSVP by this date, we will assume you will not be attending. Note that the venue is access-controlled and gate security will have a guest list. Regrettably, no person not on the guest list will be allowed entry.

What should I wear?

Our wedding will be in the spring, so we recommend light, breathable fabrics and comfortable footwear. The dress code is semi-formal / cocktail. Think flowy dresses, dressy jumpsuits, or skirts for women, and dress shirts with trousers (jackets optional) for men. Feel free to play with summer colours, florals, or soft pastels—we’d love to see everyone looking fresh and festive! Please, no white - we have a bridesmaid who will accidentally-on-purpose spill red wine on any white garments at the behest of the Bride. (This does not apply to men's dress shirts).

Our wedding will be predominantly indoors. However, photos and welcome drinks at the reception venue will take place outdoors, so please keep in mind that high heels may sink into grass. Wedges, block heels, or flats are a good idea. Light suits, airy fabrics, and summer-friendly accessories (like hats or sunglasses) are more than welcome, but will need to be removed for photos, please.

Most importantly: Bring shoes that you can dance in!

Is there accommodation available at the venue?

Unfortunately, the reception venue does not offer accommodation. We encourage our guests who are visiting from afar to seek accommodation in Irene. Please contact us for a list of nearby accommodation options.

Information pending - menu has yet to be finalised.

Will there be an open or cash bar?

Information pending - budget has yet to be finalised.

Is there a social media or photo policy?

The ceremony at Midrand Presbyterian Church will be strictly unplugged. Please turn off all cellphones, cameras, and other recording and/or noise-making devices. Marlize and Marius from Vintage Vows will be taking photos and videos, and these will be shared after the wedding.

At the reception venue, Marlize and Marius will still be present. However, here you are welcome to make use of your own devices to snap memories of the celebration. Please remember to tag us when posting on social media!

What time can I expect to go home?

As previously indicated, there are 4 parts to The Collins Wedding. Invited guests are welcome to attend all or a selection of the events.

The Reception immediately follows the Ceremony on 26 September.

Guests are welcome to leave at any time, however, there will be a send-off for the bride and groom at midnight, and we encourage all guests to stay for that. The venue will close once the bride and groom have departed.

The morning-after brunch is a free occasion and guests are welcome to come and go as they please. â€‹

The Kruger trip will be arranged separately - please remember to indicate if you'd like to join us so that we can include you in arrangements.

Who should I contact if I have questions on the day?

Anybody but the Bride and Groom!

Contact details will be shared here nearer to the time - for use in emergencies.

I'm invited to the honeymoon?!

Yes! Since many of our guests will be travelling from abroad to attend, many of whom have never been to South Africa, we would like to give them the opportunity to visit our favourite place in the world, together with us! Anyone is invited to join - even plus ones and kids not invited to the formal celebrations. We will finalise arrangements and make group bookings nearer to the time - please just indicate your interest by RSVPing to the event. NOTE: The costs of this trip will be at each guest's own expense.
